Hammathaz is the newest addition to the roster of the legendary Combat Records.

Brazilian metal/hardcore band launches new international phase and prepares a series of singles, an EP, and a new album for 2027.

Hammathaz is the latest addition to the roster of Combat Records, a historic label linked to some of the most significant chapters in global metal history. This partnership marks the beginning of a new phase for the Brazilian band, which is now preparing to expand its international presence and release entirely new material in the coming years.

The deal stemmed from a connection forged within the Brazilian scene itself. Shucky Miranda, of Skin Culture, has followed Hammathaz’s career for years and was responsible for introducing the band to Robert Dujmusic, who oversees Combat Records alongside Alex Stojak. Following that initial contact, discussions evolved into a long-term partnership.

“We connected with Combat Records through Shucky. He had been following Hammathaz’s journey, strongly believed in our work, and was the one who introduced us to Robert from Combat Records. That connection led to a partnership expected to span the coming years—something that makes us very excited about the band’s future,” says Thales Statkevičius.

Formed in 2003, Hammathaz has built a solid track record in the Brazilian underground scene, performing across various regions of the country and appearing at events such as Virada Cultural and Grito Rock. Throughout their journey, the band has shared the stage with acts like Angra, Mike Portnoy, Shaman, and Ratos de Porão, among others. The group was also invited to join the first Brazilian tour of Neil Turbin—Anthrax’s original vocalist—performing three shows in Vila Velha (ES) and São Paulo (SP).

In the studio, Hammathaz has released a full-length album, two EPs, and a series of singles. Their debut full-length, The One, was released in 2020 via Voice Music in Brazil and Defense Records in Europe. The album was also nominated for a Dynamite Award in the Best Heavy Metal Album category.

In recent years, the band has built upon this trajectory with a series of singles that helped introduce their current musical identity to a wider audience. These releases include “False Gods” (2023), “Dear Death” (2024), “Erased,” “The Mirror,” and “Kissing Dead Lips” (2025), as well as “Valley of Greed,” released in January 2026. The music videos for “False Gods” and “Dear Death” have surpassed 30,000 views on YouTube, underscoring the growth of their reach in recent years.

The latest chapter in this evolution is “Valley of Greed.” Produced, mixed, and mastered by Thales Statkevičius, the track features a music video directed by Caike Scheffer. The song addresses humanity’s growing disconnection from essential values in a society dominated by greed, artificiality, and technological dependence.

The move to Combat Records also comes at a strategic moment for the label itself. Founded in 1982, the label became a benchmark in American metal thanks to its involvement with acts such as Megadeth, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and Helstar, among many others. In January 2026, the label resumed operations under the new ownership of Robert Dujmusic and Alex Stojak, establishing its new base in Göttingen, Germany, and announcing plans to expand its presence in the heavy music market.

For Hammathaz, the partnership comes with a clear plan in place. The band intends to head into the studio in 2026 to develop and finalize new material. The first phase will consist of a series of singles starting in early 2027, which will later be compiled into an EP.

Following that, the group plans to release its next full-length album of entirely new material—the result of a project that has been in development and maturation for quite some time.

“It’s a project we’ve been developing and refining for quite some time, and now, with this partnership, we believe we have the ideal structure to bring it to life exactly as we always envisioned,” explains Thales.

With a history spanning over two decades, Hammathaz is turning the experience gained in the Brazilian scene into a new starting point. Their partnership with Combat Records lays the groundwork for a more ambitious phase, with new material in the works and their sights set on the international market.

The current Hammathaz lineup features Fernando Xavier (vocals), Thales Statkevičius and Rodrigo Marietto (guitars), Matheus Abreu (bass), and Lucas Santos (drums).
