Stormsorrow signs with the legendary Combat Records six months after debut album and releases new music video.

Brazilian Melodic Death/Thrash Metal band launches new international phase and confirms first live shows in Brasília, Goiânia, and São Paulo.
Stormsorrow has just taken an important step in its trajectory. Just six months after the release of its debut album, The Blood Red Horizon, the Brazilian band officially signed a contract with Combat Records, beginning a new phase in its career and expanding its prospects on the international scene.
The agreement represents a significant moment for a project that began to be conceived in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Kahlil Souto. After almost two decades of development, Stormsorrow has transformed a vision initially conceived as an individual project into a complete band, with its own identity and a proposal that combines Melodic Death Metal and Thrash Metal in a sound marked by heaviness, technique, melody, and dense atmospheres.
To celebrate this great achievement, Stormsorrow today released “Hellgate Assembly,” its new music video, the fourth single from its debut album. Watch it here.
Following its release, The Blood Red Horizon gained traction among specialized media outlets and appeared on over 20 lists of the best albums of 2025—including those from Roadie Crew, Mundo Metal, and Metal Na Lata—with various publications hailing it as one of the year’s major domestic releases. This reception expanded Stormsorrow’s reach and underscored the strength of their debut work, coming just months before they signed with Combat Records.
Musically, the album balances aggressive, precise riffs with melodic, atmospheric passages, forging a dynamic and cinematic identity. Key influences shaping the band’s sound include Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Iced Earth, Nevermore, and Kreator, alongside roots in the classic Thrash Metal of Sepultura and Slayer.
Stormsorrow solidified its lineup in Goiânia (GO), where Kahlil Souto met guitarist and producer Vicente Luiz—a figure instrumental in defining the project’s sound. The lineup was rounded out by Yuri Passos (bass) and Arthur Albuquerque (drums).
Leading up to and during the album’s promotional cycle, Stormsorrow released three singles that offered a preview of their musical and conceptual direction:
“Burning Skies”, “The Storm Will Remember My Name” and “Post-Truth Warfare”.
With the contract officially signed, Stormsorrow is already hard at work producing its second album, which will continue the journey begun with The Blood Red Horizon and promises to further expand the band’s horizons. The new release will also feature guest appearances by major names from the international scene, adding a new dimension to the project and reinforcing the global ambition of this next phase.
The live debut will take place on September 18, 2026, in Brasília (DF), during the second edition of the NYL Metal Festival, alongside Falchi and Korzus. The following day, September 19, Stormsorrow will perform in Goiânia (GO), once again alongside those two bands. On December 21, it will be São Paulo’s (SP) turn to host the band; Stormsorrow will participate in the first edition of Mundo Metal Fest 2026 at La Iglesia, alongside Stress, Deathgeist, Exkil, and Paradise In Flames.

The combination of the international contract, the impact of The Blood Red Horizon, the development of the second album, and their stage debut places Stormsorrow at one of the most important moments in its history. What began as a vision developed by Kahlil Souto nearly two decades ago is now taking on a new dimension, backed by an international record label.
Six months after releasing their debut album, Stormsorrow is already embarking on a new phase. The storm, building since 2005, is now beginning to take on the world.
