Destruidör releases the ‘Diabolical’ EP: raw, abrasive, and uncompromising Black/Speed Metal.
The domestic extreme metal underground has received another heavy dose of grit and speed. Destruidör—a Black/Speed Metal solo project conceived by Victor Skullcrusher (a member of the band Mortuário A.D.)—has released its latest EP, titled Diabolical. The release took place symbolically on World Rock Day, delivering exactly what fans of the old-school sound look for: aggression, rawness, and reverence for the scene’s great masters.
Comprising four tracks, Diabolical features a raw, unpolished production that faithfully reflects the project’s primary influences. Throughout the listen, the backbone rooted in the primitive sound of icons like Hellhammer, Bathory, Celtic Frost, Motörhead, and Discharge is unmistakable, combining the speed of Speed Metal with the venom of 80s Black Metal and the direct attitude of D-beat/punk.
The EP’s tracklist is split between three original compositions—delivering fast riffs and rasping vocals—and a surprising cover. The project took on the challenge of re-recording Black Sabbath’s classic “Paranoid,” deconstructing the original version through a Metalpunk lens: fast-paced, gritty, and mosh-ready.
