Inferno Nuclear confirms the release of ‘Amazônia em Chamas’ in Europe.

German label Witches Brew brings “Amazônia em Chamas” to the European market, fully preserving the original concept in Portuguese.

The German label Witches Brew has announced the release of Amazônia em Chamas, the latest album from the Brazilian thrash metal band Inferno Nuclear. The European edition fully preserves the original concept released in Brazil. Witches Brew chose to retain the artwork, credits, and all Portuguese lyrics in the booklet, thereby honoring the band’s identity and reinforcing the authenticity of the work presented to an international audience.

“It is very satisfying to see our album reach German lands with all the authenticity of the format released in Brazil. In doing so, we break the paradigm that playing metal with Portuguese vocals holds no value for international audiences, or that only bands singing in English can secure partnerships with record labels outside Brazil,” states vocalist Wellington Freitas.

On Amazônia em Chamas, Inferno Nuclear reaffirms its commitment to delivering heavy, fast, aggressive, and timeless thrash metal inspired by the 1980s old school. Their sound evokes bands such as Vio-Lence, Exodus, Testament, Metallica, and Sepultura, while maintaining a distinct identity of their own. The songs address themes including environmental destruction, the human condition, racism, religious fanaticism, violence, war, and social injustice.

Founded in Belém (Pará) in 2006—during the global resurgence of thrash metal—Inferno Nuclear is currently based in São Paulo. The lineup consists of Wellington Freitas (vocals), Leonardo Garcia (guitar), Leandro Kronnos (bass), and Marcos Luz (drums).
