Atakhama presents a version of Judas Priest’s “Beyond the Realms of Death”

According to vocalist Eric Galdyanz, the choice of the track also resonates with the lyrical approach presented on their debut album, “Time” (2025).
The international heavy/power metal band Atakhama presents its new single, a reinterpretation of “Beyond the Realms of Death,” a classic by Judas Priest from the album “Stained Class” (1978). “It’s one of the most emotional songs in Priest’s career! The lyrics portray someone who, after facing rejection, loneliness, and emotional pain, ends up taking refuge in a mental state from which they can no longer escape,” explains Eric Galdyanz.
According to the vocalist, the choice of the track also resonates with the lyrical approach presented on their debut album, “Time.” “Some songs on the album explore similar human conflicts. ‘Ashes’ delves into the pain of exile and the difficult path of forgiveness; ‘Chains’ addresses the emotional imprisonment of the past and vulnerability in the face of false promises; and ‘No Longer a Blind’ speaks about the breaking of ties with people who turn out to be different from what they seemed. We always seek to write about human experiences and their emotional consequences,” he adds.
“Time”, released at the end of 2025, brought together Eric Galdyanz (vocals), Raphael Mattos (guitar and bass), Fabio Buitvidas (drums), in addition to the special participation of Swedish bassist Magnus Rosén. Currently, the band consists of Eric Galdyanz, Raphael Mattos, Fabio Buitvidas and Vladi Melander on bass. The album brings together eleven tracks that explore profoundly human themes, with time as the central axis of the narrative. The lyrics, written by Eric Galdyanz, address issues such as overcoming adversity, exile, inequality, manipulation, personal relationships, environmental awareness, and the need to let go of resentment in the face of life’s brevity. The title track synthesizes this theme by highlighting the importance of making the most of time instead of harboring bitterness and discouragement.
